A calculator has been added 15% from its original price and being sold for 78.50. How much did the store pay the manufacturer of the calculator?

Let x be the cost that the store paid from the manufacturer of the calculator.

Lol

This looks like my homework

Or you could let x=# of adults & let y=# of children so

1(4)+4(2)+4x+2(2x)=60 2x=y

And you get the same result

You could subtract 1 adult and 4 kids from each option then you could compare the number of adults with the number of children as the remaining adults brought 2 children each the upon dividing the number of children by the number adults you should get two the only option that satisfies this is the third one

Why can't the ticketmaster count them himself ??? xD

Hi, I need help solving those two math problems because I am getting the wrong answers.

1. Doubling a certain number and then subtracting 5 gives the same result as subtracting 10 from the number and then multiplying by 7. Find the number.

2. Fayyad and Malik start with the same number. Fayyad divides the number by 3 then adds 3. Malik subtracts 7 from the number and then multiplies the result by 3. They now both have the same number. What number did they start with.

I look forward to hearing from you soon,

im so dumb

a .k. a careless

you could multiply 16×2=32 and 7×4=28 32+28=60 but you would have to multiply all the multiple choices and see witch one gives you a total of $60

I FEEL SMARTER, AAHHHH.

Jumps out windowI'm really bad at word problem, but I found this problem extremely easy. Weird

If you look at option A,

It also adds up to 60.

What I did it is I just checked which option adds up to 60 and A adds up to 60 but it's wrong

Why can't we do it like that

this is really hard
